HoneyBells. I’d never heard of them before, and then there was a knock at the door. J’s dad had sent us some Cushmann’s HoneyBells. What’s a HoneyBell you ask? From the Cushman’s site, here’s what they have to say:
Though Cushman’s® HoneyBells are commonly referred to as “the sweetest oranges in the world,” HoneyBells are not oranges at all – they’re an extraordinary hybrid of a Dancy Tangerine and Duncan Grapefruit. HoneyBell citrus are available for only a few short weeks in January, and we sell out every year! Order your HoneyBell fruit and gifts early, and we’ll deliver in January when they’re at their best!
Our HoneyBells came via UPS, but yours might come USPS. They come packaged in a little box.
Inside the box, you’ll find them all snuggled in among tissue paper.
And they really like it there, look the box even comes with directions for care. (Remember the rule, always use a tripod in dark lighting or you’ll get blurry photos.)
Let’s take them out of the comfy little tissue paper home, and get one ready to eat.
First, you might want to put on a bib. They’ll add one or two to your box. Trust me these things are so juicy, you’ll need that bib.
I don’t know if I’m ever going to eat a normal orange again in my life. These are that good. Unfortunately, you can only get them in January. If you’re looking for a new treat, you might want to try a HoneyBell.
